Katrina Van Tassel

Hello, I am Katrina Van Tassel and I have eighteen years old; really I consider myself a beautiful young and healthy girl, I know this,  but also that some mans think the same, no only for that, also because my father is Baltus Van Tassel, who is a wealthy farmer that have lots of money. I appreciate of him that is a wonderful and admirable father. 

I live in a valley called Sleepy Hollow, this name was given according to the legend that say that the headless horseman search his head in the night, who is the spirit of a german soldier that sometime lost his head in a fight against US troops.

One day in Sleepy Hollow arrived Ichabod Crane, who came from Connecticut, he was the schoolmaster of the children in the neighborhood; I was his pupil in some moment when I went to his classes one evening, there I mit him for the first time.

 He was one of my suitors; but his competition was always Brom Van Brunt, who was a strong and admirable man and for that he was cosidered the local hero. They pretended me and they seemed enemies.

One night my father decided to do a party and later of finish the dance, he started to tell stories of ghosts, while some people were around to hear it, we really were scared; but he was not the only one beacause later of him, Brom Van Brunt shared with us the history of the headless horseman and it was very frightening.





Right after that, the people were dating at the end of the party but this moment was rare because Ichabod did not leave instantly, only until after declare me. That was uncomfortable taking into account that I refused him and I noticed that he was angry.

Later that he came out furious; in that same night he dissaproved and nothing was heard from him again but the investigators found some traces such as: Ichabod's hat, his old horse found without his saddle, , saddle trampled in to the dirth, tracks of horses´ hoofs, showing furious speed and shattered pumpking .





Time after, altought some people said later of the tragedy that Brom Van Brunt was resposible for the pumpkin; I married with him.
